FDA Myanmar to accept applications of IHC online starting 9 Nov

The Department of Food and Drug Administration (FDA Myanmar) under the Ministry of Health has issued announcement No 18/2022. The announcement says that import health certification (IHC) applications will be accepted through the E-Submission system as a pilot project commencing 2 November.
It is reported that the applications will be received in the E-Submission system (fully online) beginning on 9 November and the FDA Myanmar will continue to accept IHC applications under the previous system up to 8 November.
After the submission of samples for which IHC via the E-Submission system is applied, the FDA Myanmar will send a notification to pay the fees within 24 hours through the system. If the payment is not made within the specified time, the case file will be automatically cancelled by the system, according to the notification of the FDA Myanmar.
In addition, the notification mentions that the FDA will not continue to examine the samples concerning the auto-cancelled cases and will not allow the withdrawal of the samples for them and that the new cases and samples will have to be submitted.
The proceeded inspection and withdrawal of samples regarding the auto-cancelled cases were not allowed, and new applications and samples will have to be re-submitted. — TWA/GNLM
