Sim cards are seen being plentifully sold in roadside shops.

Users must check their identifications and re-register their SIM cards by 31 January 2023, according to the Department of Telecommunications.
Users have to check their citizenship scrutiny card info on the registration of the SIM card and if they want to update the info, they can re-register them at the relevant shops of the mobile operators and through websites or applications.
Users can check their ID by dialling *601# for Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT), *979*3*3# for Atom, 666# for Ooredoo and *966# for Mytel.
Those SIM cards in which the users put wrong and incomplete info will be closed by checking the national database of the Ministry of Immigration and Population, the department stated. – TWA/GNLM
