MoH Union Minister receives delegation led by WHO Resident Representative to Myanmar

Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win of the Ministry of Health received the delegation led by Dr Thushara Fernando, recently appointed as WHO Resident Representative to Myanmar, at the Ministry’s meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The Union minister welcomed the WHO resident representative with congratulatory words and mentioned the successful realization of cooperation between the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health. Then, they discussed matters relating to the continued execution of WHO’s healthcare work in cooperation with Myanmar, issues to provide training in advanced medical sciences for the development of human resources in the health industry, immunization coverage, maternal and child healthcare services and emergency healthcare in Myanmar.
The deputy minister, directors-general of the office of the Union Minister, the Department of Public Health and the Department of Medical Services and officials participated in the meeting. —MNA
