MoFA, MoIC Union Ministers meet MISIS officials

The meeting between MoFA and MoIC Union Ministers and the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies in Yangon yesterday.

Union Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing of the Ministry of International Cooperation delivered the speeches at the meeting with the members of the Senior Advisory Board and the Executive Board of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), which was held at the meeting hall of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies in Yangon at 10 am on 23 December 2022.
In their remarks, the Union Ministers briefed on the implementations of the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs and Ministry of International Cooperation on the political objectives and the Road Map defined by the State Administration Council, responses to the organizations that interfere in the internal affairs of a Sovereign State for the political purpose, Myanmar’s implementations on ASEAN five-point consensus, cooperation in the regional and international partners and challenges. Furthermore, they urged MISIS to contribute to the state through the effective use of track 1.5 Diplomacy and track II Diplomacy in view of assisting the position, policy and endeavours of the Government not only in the domestic but also in the regional and international arenas, to submit regularly the recommendations, reviews and advises, and to do qualitative research papers to be internationally standardized ones.
Then, the participants who attended the meeting reported to the Union Ministers on undertaking activities of the Institute and exchanged views from the scholar’s perspectives.
Present at the meeting were the chairman of the Executive Board, members of the Senior Advisory Board and the Executive Board, and U Chan Aye, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, U Zaw Phyo Win, Director-General of the Department of Strategic Studies and Training as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. — MNA
