The Taungdawgwin Solar Power Project, which is being built near Thanywa, Myittha Township in Mandalay Region, has been completed, according to the announcement of Green Power Energy Co Ltd.
The project, which can produce up to 25 megawatts of electricity per year, is equipped with 45,980 solar panels, and a solar tracking system to maximize photovoltaic (PV) energy from the sun.
The electricity generated from the 132 kV Taungdawgwin Station will be sent to the National Grid through the 33 kV overhead power cable.
The Taungdawgwin Solar Power Project was one of the 29 solar projects that were tendered during the previous government and the Green Power Energy Co Ltd won the project.
The Taungdawgwin Solar Power Plant is built on 80 acres out of 200 acres of land near Thanywa in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region, and it is the third solar power plant to have been completed in Myanmar. — TWA/CT
