SAC-conferred honorary titles, medals presented

The SAC Chairman Prime Minister conferred honorary titles on recipients individually on 1 and 2 January in marking the 75th Anniversary (Diamond Jubilee) Independence Day.
For those who were unable to attend the offering ceremony in person or on their behalf, the chief ministers of respective regions and states, including Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, the military command commanders and officials visited and handed over awards to family members.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Nyunt Win Swe and officials handed over the Alinka Kyawswa title to wife Daw Aye Aye May on behalf of vocalist Thu Maung (deceased) at her home in Thingangyun township.
They also presented the Thiri Pyanchi titles to representative U Kyawswa Soe on behalf of peace coordinator Dr Timothy; on behalf of Alhaj Maulana Hafiz Muhammed Sualeh (a) U Soe Than, to son U Soe Lwin Oo; on behalf of former minister U Ohn, to son U Win Soe Aung; on behalf of former minister Thakin Kyaw Tun, to son U Kyaw Tun Win; the Zeya Kyaw Htin title was presented to son U Than Soe on behalf of former military appointment-general Brig-Gen Soe Myint (Retd); Wunna Kyaw Htin titles were presented to niece Daw Lwin Lwin Aye on behalf of former deputy education minister U Thaung Htut; on behalf of former deputy education minister Dr Maung Maung Aye, to daughter-in-law Daw Aye Aye Myat; on behalf of former deputy minister for planning and finance Dr Maung Shein, to nephew U Lin Aung; on behalf of former deputy cooperative minister U San Tin, to niece Daw Thazin Shwe; on behalf of former police general Tun Hla Aung, to granddaughter Nun Daw Dhamma Kusala, and on behalf of former ambassador U Thurein Thant Zin, to nephew U Hein Htut Naung, respectively. The Alinka Kyawswa title was offered to representative U Khin Maung Cho on behalf of writer/film director Lt-Col Maung Maung Oo (Retd.) (aka) Tin Than Oo.
The presentation ceremony of these honorary titles and medals was held at the Yangon City Hall in Kyauktada Township of the Yangon Region. – MNA/TS
