51st Myanmar Health Research Congress continues its 3rd day

The third-day session of the 51st Myanmar health Research Congress is in progress yesterday in Yangon.

The third day of the 51st Myanmar Health Research Congress organized by the Ministry of Health was held at the Department of Medical Research in Yangon yesterday.
In the morning session, the Myanmar-Japan Joint Symposium (2023): Health Hazards of Environmental Arsenic Poisoning was held. The symposium discussed the health awareness programmes on short and long-term side effects of arsenic poison for the residents, results received from research on the development of infants born to mothers who drink water containing arsenic and other measures to reduce arsenic in water.
The event was presided over by Director (retired) Dr Khin Maung Lwin of the Central Health Knowledge Division under the Ministry of Health member of the senior advisory board of Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Professor Yoshitaka Hishikawa of the University of Miyazaki. Patron Dr Khin Maung Lwin then made a greeting speech.
Afterwards, Professor Dr Yoshiki Kuroda, Assistant Professor Yasunori Yano and Professor Dr Masahiro Amano of the University of Miyazaki from the University of Miyazaki, Director Dr Khin Phyu Phyu of the Medical Research Department, Prof and Department Head of Dermatology Unit of Yangon General Hospital Dr Khine Khine Zaw and Director (retired) Dr Khin Maung Lwin discussed the researches and findings under different topics.
About 150 local and foreign experts and researchers attended the event.
A total of 10 papers were read out during the first paper reading session and the participants, experts and researchers discussed the papers during the second session.
The congress will be held for five days until 24 February. — MNA/KTZH
