MSME needs to set an aim for manufacturing quality products with the use of domestic materials for the export purpose, said Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win at the meeting with MSME businesspersons and departmental officials at the Kayah State government office yesterday morning.
Chief Minister of Kayah State U Zaw Myo Tin reported on the operation of MSME businesses in Kayah State. Then, local businesspersons and deputy ministers presented reports on regional development and improvement of socioeconomic life, formation of cooperative societies with capital, supply of inputs, and development of MSME with the encouragement of relevant ministries and regions and states.
In his response to the discussions, the Vice-Senior General said that the formation of agencies for the development of MSMEs should not stop and they have to go forward. MSME businesspersons and other entrepreneurs need to make member cards. Such a card is important for training, marketing and staging international expos and contests. A total of 62 businesses are being operated in the industrial zone for benefiting the State. They have to produce quality products with the use of domestic materials for export purposes.
Kayah State needs to emphasize improving the one region-one product for sausage and textile to distribute them widely in the market. With regard to livestock farms, the government will arrange to provide the necessary techniques for livestock farms. Prices of products depend on Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Agricultural Practices. Hence, it is necessary to conduct the GMP/GAP courses without fail. Moreover, an FDA certificate is also important for the foreign market.
The State Administration Council allotted K10 billion to Kayah State from the State Economic Promotion Fund for the development of the state.
Loans must be paid back for disbursing loans to others. MSME reports seeking loans as capital. So, they have to pay back their loans to the State. All industries need to have skilled labour for the production process. Hence, the MSME work committee need to seek training for labourers.
The government arranges the supply of electricity whereas local authorities need to arrange to generate electricity from solar power and hydropower on a manageable scale. The Prime Minister instructed all to save the use of fuel because it costs a large sum of foreign exchange yearly.
The Vice-Senior General noted that MSME needs to set an aim for manufacturing quality products with the use of domestic materials for export purposes. Successful operation of MSME will benefit raw material producers, finished goods producers and traders and the government will have to earn incomes for revenue which will be spent on salaries and wages of service personnel and development projects of the nation. Hence, MSME needs to shape the State to be an exporter from an importer.
The Vice-Senior General and party viewed round domestic products, foodstuffs, personal goods, industrial goods and traditional products.
The Vice-Senior General also paid homage to Yadana Thiri Monastery Sayadaw Agga Maha Gandhavasaka Pandita Bhaddanta Pandita and members of the Sangha at Uttarayon Monastery in Loikaw and offered rice, oil and alms to members of the Sangha.
