Wipe off dangerously infectious TB from the world

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of three major diseases which still pose threats to the world. As the TB virus has been killing millions of human beings on a yearly basis, global people wish to end the TB epidemic.
Health professionals and medical experts have been trying to comprehensively fight the TB epidemic but they can partially control infection of the epidemic till today. Although global people died of some infectious diseases, they did not entitle names of the killer diseases. Since then, TB has been a terrible disease to kill human beings. Even though they could find the TB virus a killer, they did not have the capacity to totally eliminate TB virus.
But, medical experts could partially control it today. Physicians could cure patients with TB disease to be healed. They could raise public awareness about the dreadful danger of TB disease and disseminate dos and don’ts for TB patients. Consequently, they could strive for declining in the infectious rate of TB disease among the global people.
As part of efforts to highlight the success in curing TB patients as well as the danger of the disease, World TB Day is held across the world every year. It aims to widen the scope of the people to know the devastating health, social and economic consequences of tuberculosis (TB) and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic.
The 2022 Report of the World Health Organization pointed out some gains in tackling tuberculosis. For example, in 2020, the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic, the quality of TB treatment was maintained, with an 86 per cent success rate, in 2021-22, preventive TB treatment of individuals living with HIV has exceeded the global target of 6 million, and countries have been increasingly taking up new WHO recommendations and tools leading to improved outcomes.
The documents comprise data for estimates of TB burden, Universal Health Coverage and social protection, TB/HIV care in new and relapse TB patients, and drug-resistant TB care in Myanmar. Myanmar’s Ministry of Health assigns the duties of the TB control project to fight against infectious diseases across the nation as much as possible by organizing the health staff.
Whatever it may be, all global people including Myanmar are responsible for comprehensively fighting against the dangerous infectious disease TB. The World TB Day 2023, with the theme ‘Yes! We can end TB!’, aims to inspire hope and encourage high-level leadership, increased investments, faster uptake of new WHO recommendations, adoption of innovations, accelerated action, and multi-sectoral collaboration to combat the TB epidemic.
