Plan underway to send about 280 Myanmar workers to South Korea in last week of April

About 280 Myanmar workers will be sent to South Korea in the last week of April, according to the Public Overseas Employment Agency (POEA).
A total of 105 regular workers and 43 re-entry workers will be sent to South Korea and 132 more re-entry workers on 26 April. On recent days, the Public Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) announced that re-entry workers who will return to work in South Korea must report as soon as possible to renew their passports.
In addition, the restricted goods from Myanmar re-entry workers were seized at the entrance to Incheon International Airport on 29 March. They were fined and passport records have been processed.
There are some 50,000 Myanmar workers working in South Korea, and in March this year, 253 Myanmar workers with EPS system and 86 skilled welders with E-7-3 visa went to Korea to work. —TWA/KZW
