Meeting on launching subjects related to industry, agriculture, livestock breeding at high schools held

The unveiling event of industrial, agricultural and livestock breeding subjects in 51 high schools is underway.

A meeting on launching subjects related to the industry, agriculture and livestock breeding at 51 high schools in 50 districts starting the 2023-2024 academic year following the guidance of the Prime Minister was held at the meeting hall of No 1 BEHS in Pyawbwe Township yesterday.
During the meeting, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Dr Sai Kyaw Naing Oo discussed the chances for the students who completed Grade-9 to learn vocational subjects such as industry, agriculture and animal husbandry in their high-school level education and job opportunities and replied to the questions of attendees.
The schools will deliver a three-year programme for Building Technology, Electrical Technology and Machining Technology and the eligible students for the qualified level can join the Government Technical Institute and those who pass with credit can join the Technological College and Technological University. The subjects on industry, agriculture and livestock breeding will be taught at the high schools starting the 2023-2024 academic year and the students who passed Grade 9 can study these subjects. — MNA/KTZH
