MoRAC Union Minister arrives back from People’s Republic of China

Union Minister U Ko Ko of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture returned from the People’s Republic of China yesterday afternoon after attending the General Assembly of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia held on 24 and 25 April.
Officials from the Chinese Embassy and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture met the Union minister at the Yangon International Airport.
Myanmar became a member of the alliance by agreement of the original member countries, along with Sri Lanka and Azerbaijan. In addition to the original 10 countries, Bangladesh, Singapore, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Viet Nam attended the meeting as observers.
During his visit, the Union minister met with the minister and deputy minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and they discussed cultural and archaeological cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, the Union minister discussed with Shen Yiqin State Councillor of the People’s Republic of China and officials from the Bureau of Archaeological Cultural Heritage. —MNA/KZW
