Officials inspect religious buildings, urban development, maintenance of dams in Thandwe

Maj-Gen Soe Naing Oo, who assists in the rehabilitation of storm-damaged villages in Thandwe Township of Rakhine State inspected religious buildings, urban development and maintenance of dams in Thandwe yesterday morning.
At Alodawpyae monastery in Gyaketaw Ward of Ngapali, Major-Gen Soe Naing Oo inspected situation of the religious buildings after offering alms to the Sayadaw.
On arrival at Ngapali and Mahabawdi dams in Ngapali, he looked into saltwater infiltration into the dams in the aftermath of storm Mocha, distribution of clean drinking water, and water sufficiency. After that, Maj-Gen Soe Naing Oo stressed the need to take care of water-borne diarrhea does.
Ngapali Dam supplies water to 1,065 houses and 23 hotels in Myapyin and Lintha wards of Ngapali whereas Mahabawdi Dam distributes water to seven wards in urban area with sufficiency of water.
