School enrolment day ceremony for 2023-2024 academic year held

The school enrolment day ceremony for the 2023-2024 academic year in progress in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, attended by Union Minister Dr Nyunt Pe.

The ceremony for the school enrolment day for the 2023-2024 academic year was held at the hall of No 1 Basic Education High School in Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday morning.
Students from No 6 Basic Education High School of Zabuthiri Township opened the ceremony by singing the song entitled ‘School Enrolment Weekend’.
Then, Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe, in his address, said that measures are being taken to ensure that all school-age children go to school, to turn out educated individuals equipped with comprehensive knowledge and skills, and to make sure that children finish at least middle school (KG+9). Starting from the 2016-2017 academic year, the KG+12 education system is being implemented and new curricula for G 9 and G 12 will be introduced in the coming 2023-2024 academic year.
Next, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin delivered a speech. Then, the Union minister, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman and members, the permanent secretary and the directors-general from the Ministry of Education presented texts, exercise books, ball-point pens, pencils and uniforms to officials.
Finally, students from No 1 BEHS Zeyathiri Township performed the “Zar Ti Marn” song. — MNA/KZW
