MoC reports arrival of 40 more electric vehicles at Yangon Port

The Ministry of Commerce stated that 40 more Electric Vehicles (EVs) arrived at the Yangon Port on 20 July 2023.
Under the approval of the steering committee on development of electric vehicles and related industries, 10 EVs (MG, MG4 Mulan) were imported by NPK Motors Co Ltd while 30 (BYD Dolphin), by Earth Renewable Energy Co Ltd. They have been picked up from the port as per the rules and regulations. The imports of EVs have been relaxed from Customs tariffs as well.
On 10 July, 47 EVs (MG 4 Mulan), three (MG Marvel R) and five (MG5) imported by NPK Motors Co Ltd arrived at the Port, according to the Ministry of Commerce’s notification.
There are over 3,200 registered EVs as of the last week of June 2023, according to vehicle registration statistics in each district released by the Road Transportation Administration Department. — TWA/EM
