MoBA UM opens upgrading of Myakantha Park in Taunggyi

The opening ceremony for upgrading Myakantha Park in Taunggyi, Shan State, was held before the entrance gate yesterday morning.
Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye, Deputy Minister Brig-Gen Phyo Thant, Eastern Command Commander Brig-Gen Win Zaw Moe, the chief justice of Shan State High Court, Shan State government ministers, the state attorney–general, secretary to the state government and departmental officials, invitees among others attended the opening event.
Dignitaries led by the Union minister first unveiled the park upgrade by cutting the ribbon, and the signboard was sprinkled with scented water.
The Union minister and the deputy minister planted a mahogany tree to mark the opening. The chief minister and the chief justice also grew an African tulip tree as a memorial.
The Union minister and party viewed round an art gallery displayed in the park, upgrade works, constructing entrance gates to the Myakantha Park, walkways and bridges across the lake, giving the necessary instructions. — MNA/TS
