Weather forecast for February’s second week in Myanmar

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has forecasted rain and fog in some states and regions during the second week of February. It is anticipated that there will be foggy conditions in the lower Sagaing Region, Yangon Region, Ayeyawady Region, Taninthayi Region, Shan State (South and East), Chin State, Kayah State, and Kayin State from 10 to 17 February 2024. The weather forecasting statement also predicts partly cloudy conditions over the southern parts of the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal, with a few clouds expected over the northern part of the Andaman Sea and the rest of the Bay of Bengal.
In terms of precipitation, rainfall may be below average in Nay Pyi Taw, the upper part of Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region, Magway Region, Bago Region, Yangon Region, Ayeyawady Region, Chin State, Rakhine State, Kayah State, Kayin State, and Mon State. Rain or thundershowers are expected to be widespread as usual in the upper Sagaing Region, Taninthayi Region, Kachin State, and Shan State.
Foggy conditions are likely in the upper Sagaing Region, Kachin State, Shan State (North), Rakhine State, and Mon State for about 18 to 25 days, in the lower Sagaing Region, Yangon Region, Ayeyawady Region, Taninthayi Region, Shan State (South and East), Chin State, Kayah State, and Kayin State for about 10 to 17 days, and in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay Region, Magway Region, and Bago Region for approximately three to nine days. — TWA/ TRKM
