Local garment industry flourished with continuous trade

The garment trade in the local market is doing well with continuity, according to the industry.

“At present, the textile business is doing well continuously. Either cotton or spandex, people like it and it sells according to its popularity,” said a seller at the Sanmadi Garment Shop.

With foreign-made fabrics gaining more market share than locally-made traditional garments in Myanmar, local weavers are facing challenges and are struggling to expand the local market.

Moreover, traditional garment players are trying their best to increase their production with better designs to be competitive in both quantity driven local market and quality driven export market, depending on the demand.

In addition to interesting and beautiful designs, they need to sell at optimal fair price, according to their industry.
