Myanmar, Russia to implement government-to-government relations as well as people-to-people contacts

U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received Mr Andrey Rudenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, on the morning of 21 February 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they discussed further strengthening of existing friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Myanmar and Russia especially in economic and tourism sectors, provision of more scholarships for Myanmar students and enhancement of collaboration both in regional and multilateral arenas.
They also highlighted the importance of government-to-government relations as well as people-to-people contacts between the two countries. The Deputy Prime Minister also clarified the government’s endavours to restore peace and stability in the country. — MNA
