Mawlamyine hospital to offer 3-day govt-funded surgery for cleft lip, palate repair

With government funding, patients with cleft lip and cleft palate, a congenital disability that causes both physical and mental distress, will be operated on for three days from 16 to 18 March at Mawlamyine General Hospital, announced Kyaikto People’s Hospital.
The condition is not rare, but it is a problem that causes physical discomfort and loss of self-confidence.
“We would like to deliver special good news for parents living in Rahmonnya Land. Mawlamyine Hospital will provide cleft lip and cleft palate repair surgery for three days from 16 to 18 March with government funding,” Kyaikto People’s Hospital posted on its Facebook page.
