NSPNC meets representatives from seven NCA-signatory EAOs

The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) convened a meeting with the delegation of the seven ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) that signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) on the morning of 28 March at the NSPNC Centre in Nay Pyi Taw.
Union Minister for Border Affairs and Chairman of NSPNC Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, along with members of the committee, Patron of PNLO U Khun Okkar, ALP Chairperson Saw Mra Raza Lin, LDU Vice-Chairman Kya Phu, Saw Kyaw Than Htay of DKBA, Central Executive Committee member of the KNU/KNLA Peace Council Saw Maung Maung, and Central Executive Committee member of NMSP Nai Aung Ma Ngay, and Central Executive member of RCSS Sao Saung Han, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung delivered an opening speech and further discussed the peace processes related to the NCA, matters related to ending armed conflicts, the six peace policies of Tatmadaw, and sustainable peace processes which the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services announced at the 79th Armed Forces Day ceremony.
Following this, ALP Chairperson Saw Mra Raza Lin delivered a greeting speech on behalf of the EAO attendees and discussed issues related to the continuous development of the peace process and issues concerning building a Union based on democracy and federalism, as well as the preparation and reconstitution of the Peace Process Steering Team (PPST).
Subsequently, they discussed humanitarian assistance issues and the conditions under which the Progress of Border Areas and National Races Department and an INGO would be able to implement the “project to provide necessary assistance for the peace process of Myanmar”.
ALP Chairperson Saw Mra Raza Lin and Chairman of NSPNC Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung gave closing remarks, exchanged gifts, and concluded the meeting. — MNA/TKO
