A Myanmar delegation exhibited Myanmar traditional handicrafts and food at the Asia-Pacific Festival and Charity Bazaar 2024, held in Tokyo, Japan, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society (ALFS) organized the bazaar at the Meiji Kinenkan Hall on 26 March.
Myanmar’s booth showcased a rich array of products, including lacquerware, jade ware, silverware, gold and silver thread embroidered items, wooden products, food, coffee, and consumer goods crafted from Myanmar bamboo using Japanese technology.
Besides Japanese companies and organizations, 19 embassies across the Asia-Pacific region displayed their cultural crafts and cuisines.
Princess Hanako Hitachi, Mrs Yuko Kishida, wife of Japanese Prime Minister, Mrs Haruko Komura, chairperson of the ALFS, and diplomats graced the event alongside some 3,000 guests. The ALFS, led by ambassadors and ambassadors’ wives from 26 embassies across the Asia-Pacific region, alongside esteemed Japanese women, aims to foster cultural exchange and enrichment between Japan and its member countries. — ASH/NT
