The third day of the 2022 Myanmar National League continued on 22 August at the Thuwunna Stadium, where Maha United beat Rakhine United by 2:1.
As it was an important match for the relegation zone, both teams played to their full potential and Maha United won with goals scored in the first half.
Maha United have nine points from all first-round matches and is in a good position to climb out of the relegation zone as they sit three points clear of the relegation zone.
As for Rakhine United, they lost all their first-round matches to MNL clubs including Mahar United and it has become difficult for them to get out of the relegation zone. Both teams used core players to play with full potential. Both teams started attacking from the beginning of the game, but the Mahar United team played better at the beginning of the game, and striker Soe Min Naing scored the opening goal in the sixth minute.
Even after the goal, Mahar United managed to control the game and in the 20th minute, Kyaw Swa Min scored a header over the assist of Htike Htike Aung and got the second goal.
After that, the Rakhine United team tried harder to equalize and Than Kyaw Htay scored an equalizing goal in the 35th minute, so Maha United won by two goals to one goal after the first half. In the second half, the Rakhine United team tried to equalize, but the Maha United team made no mistakes, so the match ended with a 2-1 win for Mahar United.
