MoU workers to Thailand.

agencies are fully responsible for the workers from departing time to when they return home, said Union Minister Dr Pwint San in the meeting of the Myanmar Overseas Employment Agencies Federation-MOEAF executive members on 6 September.
He pointed out that agencies need to go and solve the trade disputes at workplaces in respective countries between the owners and workers as well as cases of accidents, injuries and deaths within 30 days. They have to report the workers’ issues and unusual incidents to authorities in order to receive collaborative efforts from the labour attaches. It is necessary to coordinate with relevant ministries and region/state governments in order to ensure the safe travel of workers sent under the MoU system.
Around 30,000 and 40,000 workers have been sent to Thailand through the MoU system since 10 May. —TWA/GNLM
