Applications reach over 7,000 for building permits within YCDC boundaries

According to the Yangon City Development Committee-YCDC, there are 7,398 building permit applications and 4,608 buildings that have been approved for construction within the boundaries of the YCDC.
YCDC, Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (YESC), Yangon Region Fire Services Department and related departments of the committee are processing building permits through the online system at ybps.ycdc.gov.mm.
Building construction permits and building completion certificates are being processed online only starting from 7 April 2020. All the required information, the things to be submitted and the building forms are being processed through the paperless system.
In addition to the lists of construction permits applied for and approved lists and ongoing cases within the boundaries of the YCDC, the lists of buildings approved for construction by various townships and buildings that have been issued with a certificate of completion can be easily accessed online by anyone with a smart phone or computer at ybps.ycdc.gov.mm.
There were 7,398 building permit applications, 4,608 buildings that were approved for construction, and 43 approved buildings that were cancelled by the landlord because they did not want to build as of 25 July 2023.
In addition, 260 buildings could not be approved because they could not be implemented, and one construction permit was kept as a record, 703 construction permits were re-notified due to the need of the building permit applicants, and 1,418 construction permits that are still being verified by the department, according to the YCDC. — TWA/KZL
