ASEAN Villages Network Project set for implementation in three Myanmar villages

Myanmar is working on a project to establish three villages that will connect to the ASEAN Villages Network according to the Rural Development Department under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development.
The ASEAN Villages Network includes 30 villages from ten ASEAN countries, and each village will connect to jointly implement the project between 2024 and 2025 with the aim of bringing socioeconomic development in line.
Under the project, NyaungU’s Myingaba village in Mandalay Region, Lewe’s Thawkagon village in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, and Nyaungshwe’s Innpawkhon village in Shan State are slated to join the ASEAN Villages Network as a tourism village, digital village, and one region and one product village respectively.
The ASEAN Villages Network is the first network to be established in ASEAN countries, and under the project, the socioeconomic life of residents in the villages will be promoted to the level of ASEAN, according to the Rural Development Department. — ASH/TH
