Athletes who competed in XII ASEAN Paralympic Games come back home

Myanmar athletes who have taken part in XII ASEAN Paralympic Games are seen at the Yangon International Airport yesterday.

The Myanmar Sport Team who won the sixth position with 15 gold medals, 22 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals in the XII Paralympic Games held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia led by the Chairman of the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation Maj-Gen Hla Moe arrived back at the Yangon International Airport on 10 June.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Myo Hlaing, regional ministers, departmental officials, Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation officials, and the public welcomed back the sports team.
The Team Myanmar stood in the sixth place with total medals of 56 including 12 golds, 13 silvers, and ten bronzes in the track and field events, three gold, six silver and four bronze medals in the swimming event, and two bronze medals in chess event, three silver medals and two bronze medals in the weightlifting event and one bronze for Goalball. — MNA/KZL
