Confiscated illegal items: Teak, fuel oil, industrial materials and vehicles

The joint on-duty teams managed by the Mandalay Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force nabbed an Isuzu light truck (approximately K35 million), travelling from PyinOoLwin to Mandalay, carrying 600 gallons of diesel valued at K6 million without official documents at the 16th-Mile Kyaukchaw checkpoint, a Dongfeng tractor head with a trailer (estimated value of K120 million) carrying 6,000 gallons of diesel (handmade) worth K43 million without official documents near Myitnge bridge on the outskirts of Mandalay and three kinds of goods worth K19.87 million including 969 gallons of diesel valued without official documents at the Milepost 358/4 in Amarapura township on 15 December. The action was taken under the Customs procedures.
The on-duty team supervised by the Customs Department seized two kinds of goods worth K2 million, including ten sets of UNICO POE switches and a Holy Stone Drone (used) without official documents from luggage at the Yangon International Airport (Import Desk) on 16 December. The action was conducted under Customs procedures.
On 18 December, the combined teams captured 3.026 tonnes of illegal teak worth K998,580 in the Toungoo district. The action was conducted under the Forest Law.
Eight arrests were made on 15, 16 and 18 December, with an estimated value of K226,868 million, as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
