The Disciplinary and Inspection Department has taken action against YBS bus lines operating in the Yangon Region. Between 1 January and 25 September, a total of 16,699 cases have been reported. These cases encompass 11,909 instances of violations observed through surveillance records, six cases reported via Facebook complaints, 1,761 incidents of running red lights, 791 cases of speeding, 55 instances of deviating from prescribed routes, 86 cases of reckless driving, 122 cases of prolonged stops at bus stops, 496 cases of improper overtaking, and four cases of unprofessional conduct towards passengers and 810 other cases. Out of these cases, 8,186 have been resolved, while 8,513 remain pending, as per YRTC records.
U Lyan Cin Mang, Joint Secretary of the YRTC, emphasized that running red lights is the most serious traffic offence, and YBS companies have been instructed to dismiss drivers who commit this offence three times.
