Kayin State aims to become a prime tourist destination with abundant natural attractions

The Kayin State Chief Minister stated during the September 2023 meeting of the Kayin State Regional Tourism Committee that Kayin State, boasting numerous natural caves and tourist destinations, is set to become a popular spot for both domestic and international tourists.
He expressed, “Given that our state offers exceptional tourism and recreational opportunities with its lush forests, mountains, springs, and natural caves, I encourage responsible officials to proactively prepare, ensuring that domestic and foreign tourists are enticed to visit again.”
Myanmar boasts numerous tourist attractions across its regions and states, and in Kayin State, one such attraction is the historic Mahar Sadan Cave located near Kotwarsuu Village in Hpa-an. The Chief Minister further emphasized the importance of collaborating with committee members to promote regional tourism development. Key considerations include facilitating convenient access to the ancient historical Maha Sadan Cave, the ancient reclining Buddha, unique natural rock formations, cave wall carvings, and stupas within the cave.
Kayin State is endowed with vast natural forests and offers around 20 notable tourist destinations, including the iconic Mount Zwekabin, Bayinnyi Cave, Yathaypyan Cave, Sanda Cave, Kawgon Cave, Kawkathaung Cave, and the Chitthumyine Resort. — TWA/CT
