In Kayah State, it has been found that malicious media are spreading misinformation on social networking sites. The misinformation alleges that the Tatmadaw fired heavy weapons at the Thiri Mingala market in Loikaw yesterday morning, resulting in the total destruction of the entire market by fire.
The Tatmadaw has never engaged in firing upon or attacking public places. It consistently strives to protect the lives and property of the people from danger of insurgents.
Terrorists are actively working to disrupt people’s lives and socio-economic activities. In a recent incident, those terrorists intentionally set fire to the Thiri Mingala market in Loikaw. They employ terrorists and malicious media to hide their actions and create misconceptions among local residents. False information has been disseminated, suggesting that the fire and damage were caused by heavy weapons of the Tatmadaw, aiming to undermine the collaborative anti-terrorist efforts between the people and the military. — MNA/KZW
