DPM Union Foreign Affairs Minister meets with Deputy Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe holds talks with Mr Shi Yugang, Deputy Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China on 9 December 2023 at the Haigeng Garden Hotel in Kunming, China.

On the sidelines of the 8th Langcang-Mekong Foreign Ministers Meetings, U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar met with Mr Shi Yugang, Deputy Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of the People’s Republic of China on the evening of 9 December, at the Haigeng Garden Hotel in Kunming, China.
At the meeting, both sides cordially exchanged views on consolidation of the existing traditional bounds of Myanmar-China Pauk-Phaw relations, the intensification of border trade, investment and mutually beneficial cooperation between Myanmar and China including Yunnan Province and enhancement of cooperation in matters related to rule of law, security, peace and stability along the border areas of the two countries.
In the evening, the Deputy Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China hosted a dinner in honour of the Myanmar delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar at the Haigeng Garden Hotel.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs and party arrived back in Myanmar yesterday evening, after attending the 8th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held on 7 December in Beijing, China. The delegation was welcomed back at the Yangon International Airport by Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. — MNA
