GLMS introduced in licensed guesthouses in YCDC area

Yangon hotel zone sees resurgence as small hotels reopen amid domestic tourism hikes.

The Guest List Management System (GLMS) has been introduced to all licensed guesthouses under the jurisdiction of the Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC). This system enables the simultaneous retrieval of lodging data for both foreign and domestic guests, enhancing traveller safety and promoting tourism development.
Currently, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has begun implementing the GLMS in hotels and guesthouses licensed by the ministry, with plans to extend its use to all licensed lodgings within the YCDC.
According to data from the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, there are guesthouses distributed as follows: 43 in Kachin State, 24 in Kayah State, 48 in Kayin State, nine in Chin State, 50 in Mon State, eight in Rakhine State, 93 in southern Shan State, 76 in northern Shan State, 107 in Eastern Shan State, 52 in Nay Pyi Taw, 272 in Yangon Region, 362 in Mandalay Region, 50 in Sagaing Region, 43 in Magway Region, three in Bago Region, and 41 in Ayeyawady Region. — TWA/MKKS
