Hlawga main power station in Mingaladon Township to get transformers

Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun looks into a control room of power station during his electricity generation industry inspection trip in Yangon.

In the electricity generation industry, plans are underway to install more transformers at Hlawga main power station in Mingaladon Township of Yangon Region, according to Director-General of the Electric Power Transmission and System Control Department, U Thura Aung Bo.
Yesterday afternoon, Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun heard reports on the power transmission and distribution conditions of the Hlawga main power station by the director-general at the Hlawga natural gas power plant.
After the presentation, the Union Minister stressed the need to systematically operate the stations with maintenance before building new ones. He pointed out that systematic maintenance schedule must be schemed for the regular operation of machinery.
At the control rooms, the Union Minister inspected supply of electricity in connection with the national grids, operation of power stations, and generating electricity by Myanmar Central Power Co Ltd and UPP Power (Myanmar) Ltd. — MNA/KZW
