ICRC extends support to vulnerable communities with clothing and food aid

The International Committee of the Red Cross-ICRC together with Red Cross societies from Myanmar, Sweden, Finland and Norway delivered foodstuffs plus clothing for 1,123 households in difficulty in Pakokku Township, Magway Region on 7 and 8 September, according to the Myanmar Red Cross Society of Mandalay Region.
The Red Cross Corps Deputy Commander U Aung Min Oo said along with the ICRC, Red Cross societies of Myanmar, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway donated food, utensils, clothes and slippers to people of 1,123 households who are struggling to make a living in Kyweltae Village-tract and various quarters in Pakokku Township.
The donated items include household items, sanitary products, raincoats, blankets, mats, slippers, coats, masks, hand gel, sacks of rice and salt among others.
After the donation, a talk was given about the Red Cross. Red Cross staff and local Red Cross troops help distribute these relief items. — ASH/KZL
