On 9 May, an on-duty combined team conducted inspections at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) combined checkpoint and confiscated 50 rolls of PVC flooring sheet worth K2.25 million from a vehicle heading to Yangon from Myawady and 76 Sailun tyres worth K12,141,988 from a Nissan diesel (approximately K30 million) near No 2 Highway Junction on Myawady-Hpa-an-Yangon Road. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
In addition, an on-duty team captured 7,390 pieces of window automotive glass worth K215 million that exceeded the 61 days of Valid for Prior Arrival-VPA from a container at the Hteedan container checkpoint. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
Similarly, a combined team led by officials from the Office of the Commander of the Dawei District Police Force captured 230 cartons of Thai-made palm oil worth 6.2 million without official documents from a Dyna truck (approximately K 25 million) near Bogyoke Street in Dawei township. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
Therefore, six arrests (estimated value of K290,591,988) were made on 9 May, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
