Illegal teak, cosmetics, electronic accessories, computer accessories, vehicle accessories, vehicles seized

A combined team, under the supervision of Ayeyawady Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force seized more than 17 tonnes of illegal timber estimated at K556,927 from Bogale and Pathein townships on 21 and 22 March and the action was taken under the Forest Law.
Similarly, a combined team nabbed 3.6 tonnes of illegal teak timber estimated value of K2.38 million near milepost 3/6 on Yangon-Mandalay Expressway and a Mitsubishi Canter Truck estimated at K23 million, totalling estimated value over K25 million and the action was taken under the Forest Law.
Furthermore, Customs mobile teams carried out inspection at Htee Tan Port container checkpoint and they seized five kinds of goods including 240 Nova Hair Dryers estimated at K5.2 million, and they also nabbed 10 kinds of goods including 400 bottles of Collagen Lifting Serum and IAIA 350W Solar Panels from four containers estimated at K79.45 million and five kinds of goods including one Solar Air-conditioner, 180,000 computer compact discs and other five goods estimated at K13.54 million at Asia World Container Checkpoint. Then, officials seized 11 kinds of goods including 2,500 bottles of EP664 INKJET ink and 783 air filters, that are not declared in Import Declaration estimated value of K174.04 million. Totalling value K272,247,833 and the action were taken under the Customs Procedures.
Therefore, 11 arrests at an estimated value of K298,191,848 were made from 21 to 24 March, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.—MNA/KZL
