Illegal timbers, charcoal bags, vehicles seized in various townships

Supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law.
On 5 June, the Combined Inspection Team led by Tatmadaw and Forest Department conducted an inspection under the management of the Rakhine Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force. They confiscated K312,172 worth of 4.4596 tonnes of illegal timbers in Taungup Township. The action was taken under the Forest Law.
Similarly, on 6 June, under the supervision of the Anti-Trafficking Task Force, an inspection team led by the Forest Department captured illegal charcoal bags worth K243,216 in Monywa Township, and the action was taken under the Forest Law.
Moreover, on the same day, an unregistered Honda Fit at an estimated value of K1,500,000 was seized in Kanbalu Township, and the action was taken under the Export/Import Law. An unregistered Hijet car (approximately K1,500,000) was seized in Sagaing Township, under the supervision of the Anti-Trafficking Task Force on 6 June, and the action was taken under the Export/Import Law.
Therefore, seven arrests (approximately K3,555,388) were made on 5 and 6 June, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee. — MNA
