The Muse District Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force inspected the vehicles that entering from China at the Sinphyu checkpoint in Muse township and captured 15 kinds of goods including 512 kilogrammes of cotton fabric roll worth K18,664,331 that were duty-free not paid custom duties by the side of the road over the Sinphyu checkpoint on 30 March. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On 31 March. an on-duty team at the Asia World Terminal container checkpoint confiscated four kinds of goods including 30,000 pairs of LUX duck head vests that exceeded 61 days of Valid for Prior Arrival-VPA. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On 1 April, an inspection team from the Tamu Police station captured an unregistered Canda 125 motorbike worth K150,000 in Tamu township and an inspection team from Bamauk Police station seized an unregistered Toyota land cruiser Prado auto worth K5 million in Bamauk township. The action was taken under the Export and Import Law.
On 1 and 2 April, a total of 9.633 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K2,969,100 was captured in Kyaukdaga, Gyobingauk and Pyu townships and the action was taken under the Forest Law.
Therefore, seven arrests (estimated value of K135,557,866) were made on four consecutive days from 30 March to 2 April, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
