Illegal timbers, forest products, foodstuffs, consumer goods, motorboat and vehicles confiscated

Coastal Vessel-114 under the supervision of the Tanintharyi Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force conducted inspections on 17 November.
Officials captured a total of 5.107 tonnes of illegal timbers from a motorboat and related things (approximately K750,000) 1.9 miles from the North of Kaya Island in Kyunsu township of Myeik district. The action was taken under the Forest Law.
A combined on-duty team seized 45 bags of coal worth K67,500 and foodstuffs (made in Thailand) worth K800,000 without official documents from a Mitsubishi Fuso bus (approximately K30 million) at the Pauktaing Bridge Checkpoint in Dawei township. The action was taken under the Forest Law and Customs Procedures.
Similarly, an on-duty team confiscated 2,000 kilogrammes of linoleum worth K6.3 million that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) from a container at the Asia World Port Terminal Container Checkpoint and the action was taken under Customs Procedures.
On 18 November, an on-duty team confiscated K70,594,000 worth of roller bearings (different models and sizes) that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID) from a container at the Myanmar Industrial Port Container Checkpoint. The action was taken under Customs Procedures.
On 19 November, a total of 6.5036 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K1,689,520 was captured in Toungoo district and an unregistered Daihatsu Hijet car (approximately K1.5 million) was seized in Waw township. The action was taken under the Forest Law and Export and Import Law.
Therefore, nine arrests (at an estimated value of K112,467,070) were made on three consecutive days from 17 to 19 November, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.— MNA
