K2 bln worth of caffeine seized in Pyigyidagun Township

A total of five tonnes of restricted chemical (caffeine), valued at K2 billion, was seized in Pyigyidagun Township, Mandalay Region, as reported by the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team comprising members of the Anti-Drug Police Force conducted a search of a warehouse rented by Kyaw Soe (aka Ah Lyan) in Pyigyidagun Township at 4:30 pm on 23 February. Police seized five tonnes of prohibited chemical (caffeine) worth K2 billion from 200 sacks, which were illegally stored.
The offender admitted that the seized prohibited chemical (caffeine) was intended to be transported from Mandalay to Shan State (North). Legal action has been taken against the offender, and an ongoing investigation aims to arrest other perpetrators involved in the case. — MNA/MKKS
