K540 mln worth of Ice impounded in Tachilek

The Anti-Drug Police Force seized 68 kilogrammes of Ice (methamphetamine) worth K540 million in Tachilek of eastern Shan state.
The combined team consisting of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched a Mark ll vehicle driven by Sai Yi (aka) Aik Yi accompanied by Aik Num (aka) Sai Num near Wankyauklone village, Tachilek township of Shan state (east) at 5:30 pm on 23 July. They found 51 kilogrammes of Ice (methamphetamine) and acting on an interrogation result, the team raided Nwe Yi’s house, a drug dealer, and found Nwe Yi and Sai Lone with 17 kilogrammes of Ice (methamphetamine).
The total value of seizures amounted to over K540 million in 68 kilogrammes of Ice (methamphetamine). They are prosecuted under respective laws and perpetrators of the crime chain are being investigated and identified, it is learnt. —MNA
