According to the industry, the garment trade in the local market is doing well with continuity.
“At present, the textile business is doing well continuously. People like cotton or spandex, and it sells depending on its popularity,” said a seller at the Sanmadi Garment Shop.
With foreign-made fabrics gaining more market share than locally-made traditional garments in Myanmar, local weavers face challenges and struggle to expand the local market.
Moreover, traditional garment players are trying to increase their production with better designs to be competitive in both quantity-driven local markets and quality-driven export markets, depending on the demand.
In addition to exciting and beautiful designs, they must sell at optimal fair prices, according to their industry. — Thit Taw/ZN
