The Myanmar government, concerned for its citizens facing difficulties abroad, always ensures their safe and prompt return home through the Myanmar embassy in the respective country and the embassy of that country.
In consultation with the authorities in Riyadh, the Myanmar Embassy successfully facilitated the return of a Myanmar girl facing difficulties in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to her home country. Ma Aye Aye Pai, a Myanmar national, departed Riyadh at 12:50 pm local time on 21 May and arrived in Yangon at 9:50 pm via Muscat and Bangkok.
Ma Aye Aye Pai wished to return to Myanmar due to work fatigue and poor relations with her employer in Riyadh. Her employer brought her to the Myanmar Embassy, where she received assistance with accommodation and meals. To expedite her return from Saudi Arabia, the relevant departments coordinated with officials to obtain an exit pass, enabling her smooth arrival in Yangon on 22 May.
“My hometown is Myingyan. I worked for four months in Riyadh. I asked the Myanmar embassy to help me return home because I struggled with the food, language, traditions, and social dynamics in Riyadh. I want to share my experience with all women who are thinking of working abroad. I want them to carefully consider the conditions and culture of the destination country before travelling, and they should not be swayed solely by promises of high wages. The Myanmar Embassy provided me with good accommodation and meals, and I am very grateful for the warm and helpful support from the ambassador and the staff. I also thank the government and officials of the Myanmar Embassy who assisted in my return home,” said Ma Aye Aye Pai. — Nyein Thu/TKO
