ME Seoul receives complaints from Myanmar students in Korea about losses from paying tuition fees through intermediaries

Myanmar Embassy in Seoul has announced that it has received documented complaints of losses suffered by Myanmar students in Korea who had paid entrance and tuition fees through their friends and some education service firms.
Myanmar students enrolled in the universities and language schools in the Republic of Korea are required to make direct transfers from Myanmar banks to respective banks in Korea to pay their tuition fees, but some who couldn’t make so were found to be making payments via their friends and education service firms, it stated.
When they didn’t actually pay, Myanmar students suffered losses and they complained to the embassy with evidence.
Therefore, the embassy informed that the students should thoroughly check before transfer payments without making reckless transactions to avoid unnecessary losses, disputes and lawsuits.
The embassy will also carry out necessary scrutiny after communicating with relevant authorities. —
