Minbu solar-power plant completes 97% of Phase II groundwork

About 97 per cent of the groundwork for the second phase (40 MW) of the solar power project near Zeeaing village in Minbu district, Mgway Region, was completed, according to the in charge of the project.
The project was constructed on 2 February 2018 with an area of 836 acres at Gotegyi Field No 1273. On 2 June 2019, it started to generate 40 MW of power and 25 MW has already fed to the substation of An in Rakhine State and 15 MW to the Mann substation in Minbu.
From the beginning of the project, it was planned to implement the project in four phases – 40 MW each for Phase I,II and III and 50 MW for Phase IV.
The implementation of the second phase was delayed due to Covid-19, and the groundwork commenced on 7 December 2021, and it is 97 per cent completed. When the transformer and necessary electrical equipment used in the project arrived there and if the weather is fine, the installation work can be completed within one year, said U Nyunt Aung, plant manager of GEP (Myanmar) Co Ltd. — Zeyar Htet (Minbu)/KZW
