MoC conducts faster import process for anti-Covid-19 devices

The Ministry of Commerce keeps coordinating with relevant departments to facilitate faster importation of Covid-19 protective equipment during current public holidays.
Relevant departmental officials are working together to facilitate importation processes in line with the SOP. Online registration for import licences during current public holidays from 26 July to 1 August also runs smoothly.
On 28 July (yesterday), 8,201 oxygen concentrators and 30,300 test kits from Yangon International Airport and 39 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 23 tonnes of the liquid oxygen tank, 9,191 home oxygen concentrators, and 72 tonnes of masks via Muse, Chinshwehaw, Kampaiti, Kengtung, Kawthoung, Myawady, and Tachilek trading posts were successfully imported.
The items earlier mentioned were imported by 88 vehicles from 39 companies. From 12 to 28 July, 670 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 517 tonnes of oxygen cylinders, 114 tonnes of oxygen gas, 53,875 home oxygen concentrators, 306,078 test kits, 369 tonnes of masks, five oxygen plants, and nine oxygen generators were allowed to import as officials are giving priority to disease control of the Covid-19.
The Ministry of Commerce steps up cooperation with relevant departments in order to facilitate the importation of Covid-19 disease prevention and control equipment by arranging direct contact with officials from trade centres concerned if assistance is needed. — MNA
