MoHT Union minister discusses systematic resumption of tourism industry

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung organized a coordination meeting to ensure the systematic resumption of the tourism industry yesterday.
During the meeting, the Union Minister talked about the need to conduct the COVID-19 health rules in the open season to resume the tourism industry and follow the leadership of regional tourism industry committees with the proportionate development in seven-type of tourism-related fields.
He then highlighted the plans to survey the travellers’ arrivals, accommodation, food, region tours, souvenir buying rate and expenses preparations for the tourist arrivals, cooperation work between the government and private industries including respective region/state governments and departments concerned.
Then, the officials who joined the meeting reported on the numbers of travellers, flights, vaccination programmes and safe services for those who work in the hotels and tourism industry.
At noon, the Union Minister met with the Nay Pyi Taw Council Member (2), Nay Pyi Taw Council Area tourism committee vice-chairman U Zeyar Lin and other hoteliers in Nay Pyi Taw at Thu Kha Soe Hotel in Pyinmana Township of Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, the Union Minister discussed the lifestyle to live with the pandemic in line with the preventive measures despite the reducing infection rate, implementation of agriculture-based tourism for Nay Pyi Taw by cooperating with the ministries concerned, recreational tours in addition to pilgrimages, safe services of hotels/motels/lodges with the certificates granted under Healthy and Safety Protocol (HSP) of the ministry.
Then, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area tourism committee vice- chairman U Zeyar Lin reported on the reopening of hotels/motels/lodges in line with the COVID-19 health rules and implementation of tour destinations in Nay Pyi Taw.
The attendees to the meeting coordinated the meeting and the Union Minister instructed the necessary things. — MNA
