MoI UM discusses holding of Myanmar Film Academy Award Ceremony

The meeting focuses on process of Myanmar film academy award ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

Union Information Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, in his capacity as Chairman of the Steering Committee on the 2023 Myanmar Film Academy Award Ceremony, attended the coordination meeting of the committee in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the meeting, the Union minister highlighted the awarding ceremony to be held at MICC I in Nay Pyi Taw on 3 February and the plan of government to bear the cost of the golden star at the Academy statue and golden brooch for the artistes to the event, signing agreement with main sponsor Forever Group Co Ltd on 3 January, reviewing processes of 35 movies screened in 2023 and 12 movies that completed the scrutinizing process of second stage on 3 January.
He also talked about the selection of 13 males and 13 females for the role of receptionist who gets to carry the Academy statues, and 43 artistes were chosen by the receptionist selection team, film production industries, and channels aiming at emerging talent artistes in the future, he added.
He also stressed the need to complete the installation of the lighting, sound, and camera setting not later than 28 January, while the Technical Rehearsal on 29 January, and to work together with the relevant committees to complete the operations in time.
Then, the vice-chairperson of the steering committee, the chairperson of the working committee, and the secretary of the steering committee reported on the measures to hold the event successfully, cooperation with Nay Pyi Taw Council and Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee, and ongoing work plans.
The Union minister gave proper instructions after the presentations of the participants of relevant organizations and sub-committees. — MNA/KTZH
