MoPF conducts annual review of 2023-2024 financial year

A coordination meeting on the annual review of the 2023-2024 FY and the activities to be implemented in the 2024-2025 FY of Ministry of Planning and Finance in progress in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The Ministry of Planning and Finance held a coordination meeting yesterday at its office regarding the annual review of the 2023-2024 financial year and the activities to be implemented in the 2024-2025 financial year.
Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein emphasized the need to continue making progress in the upcoming financial year 2024-2025, while also maintaining the advantages of departments and organizations under the ministry, and state-owned economic organizations from the previous financial year, 2023-2024. He also instructed all to review the weaknesses and try to implement better business methods to be able to fully realize the nation’s goals.
The Union Minister also emphasized that the Ministry of Planning and Finance bears the responsibility of augmenting state revenue and supervising government department expenditures in compliance with financial regulations. Departments were urged to coordinate effectively to attain set objectives. As employees, it is imperative for them to maintain full operational capacity. He encouraged adherence to civil service rules and regulations, aspiring to be recognized as exemplary civil servants capable of serving both the state and the people, and to approach their work with a positive attitude.
Additionally, the departmental heads deliberated on the strengths and weaknesses of the revenue and expenditure implementation for the 2023-2024 financial year, as well as the operations and activities slated for the upcoming financial year, 2024-2025. The Deputy Prime Minister provided necessary instructions while addressing issues pertaining to revenue and expenditure, as well as ensuring the timely invitation of tenders. — MNA/TH
